From PA to FL

Last week we had the awesome privilege to vacation in Fort Lauderdale, Fl for a week. A close friend, Cyle Nunemaker, had a destination wedding over the weekend so we decided to take the extra days and make a family trip out of the occasion. Aside from missing our friends/family from home, we really wanted to stay and soak up the 80 degree, sunny days for a lot longer than a week.

The trip consisted of a 2 hour drive to Baltimore, a 2 hour flight to Fort Lauderdale, and a 15 minute taxi to the hotel. All of you experienced travel-moms probably know the tricks to keep your kids entertained for that amount of time: lots of snacks, lots of toys, and repeat. Eva was a champ and I truly admired the moms I saw traveling (on their own) with more than one child. No thank you. My palms get sweaty just thinking about it.

After 3 days of loathing the beach, Eva started to get the hang of the waves and sand and it soon became a highlight of her day. She sifted the sand with her fingers, "jumped" in the waves, and loved to be carried at the edge of the crashing waves. Just thinking about it makes me want to start driving and say goodbye to chilly mornings and layers. But, for now, PA is where it's at.

My blogging has been less than consistent lately. What have you been filling your fall days with? Hot cocoa? Pumpkin carving? Nature walks through the newly fallen leaves? It really is an awesome season of change. Cheers to fall and all that is has in store...for all of us.
