Boy AND Girl

No, not twins...but a family of 4,with a girl AND A BOY!!! Driving to Womb with a View, Brandon and I chatted about how time has flown during this second pregnancy. We could hardly believe that we were finding out the sex of our baby already. Before walking in the door, Brandon guessed that we were having a girl and I spontaneously said, "Boy!". The atmosphere was set for us before we walked in. No really, it was. As Eva and I sat down to fill out papers, Eva threw up in Brandon's cupped hands. Lovely. Thankfully, the receptionist had been cleaning the windows and a full roll of paper towels sat inches from my seat. Perfect. Clean up this little mess and move on. Eva didn't skip a beat and seemed to be patiently awaiting this visit.
The room for the ultrasound was just like a living room at your grandma's house (a little less animation than my grandma's house). Couches, chairs, and TVs for family or friends to see the baby. Brandon and I decided to keep this between the fam, him, Eva, and I. I laid on the mini-bed and within seconds (no exaggeration), we saw a bouncing baby BOY on the screen. He was moving constantly and the first thing we saw was a giant PENIS! I mean, if you have never seen a child of your own flesh and blood with a penis, it's pretty shocking! "Oh my goodness, we're having a boy!!!" Brandon and I exchanged glances and turned back to the TV with a smile plastered to our faces. Throughout the entire visit I think we were both in shock. We are having a boy! The pictures were priceless and it's obvious that this little boy looks like his sister already. He even had hiccups while we were watching him dance.
In the last week, having a boy has settled in my heart. It seems perfect and beyond what I could have imagined. We don't have names, but I did envision this little boy being birthed and he made me teary eyed right on the spot.
More to come on this topic. In some ways, I'm just soaking up this new adventure. Second pregnancy, but oh so different to be preparing for a boy. Yahoo!!! A son! I have a son!!! (as I laugh to myself)

I think a boy is so perfect for you, really, it's gonna be great. I am honestly so eager to meet this little boy and watch him grow. If he turns out to be even an inkling like his sister, he will be sHAAAA-MAZING.

Love you SAM!
