Head in the Game

The countdown is on. It's been "on", but now it is really ON. May has been filled with fabulous birthdays (my dad, kell, tricia), our 6th anniversary, and our first over-nighter without Eva. The warm weather and play dates are all I've been waiting for, yet time has a way of speeding up during this sacred time of year. Oh yeah, and I'm going to birth my SON soon too. No big deal. What?!?!

It's a HUGE stinkin' deal. I am pumped. Brandon and I have been talking about how things will change around the house and what parenting will be like with 2 kids. Just say it, "Our kids.". Crazy! Today Eva pulled up my shirt and began kissing my belly. She talks to little buddy and says, "Out! Out! Home! Home". But today, took it to a whole new level. She started pulling on my belly and trying to "help" baby boy come out. "Help you?" she says to me. HA! It was so precious. I tried to tell her that only Jesus can tell her brother when to come out, so she prayed for me and asked Jesus to talk to the baby. Precious. Moments (no wonder those figurines sold so well).

I'm trying to compile a list of verses and inspirations to meditate on before the birth. If you have kids, maybe you have some favorites up your sleeve that you'd like to share. Maybe you want to stick a few of these on your bathroom mirror. Does anyone still write in lipstick now-adays?

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8:2

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court. Psalm 127:3

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Moms: You were made for this!
