First Day Flying Solo

6:30am. Baby is crying. Time to feed. Thank you Jesus, nursing is so much less painful this time around. Baby is fed and asleep. Get dressed and clean up downstairs. Goodbye Brandon! Enjoy your first day back at the office. Baby is awake. Hungry. Feed. SPIT UP ALL OVER ME AND THE COUCH AND THE DOG. Clean up time. 9:15am. Eva is awake! Hi beautiful! Be there in a second. Get Eva dressed while Aslan is in his swing. Come downstairs. Eva says, "MILK!" Aslan SPIT UP AGAIN ALL OVER THE SWING. Clean up time. Throw laundry in the hamper. Glance at bed. DOG PEED ON MY NEW COMFORTER!!! Steam spewing from my ears. Clean up time.

Feed Eva. Put kids in the car and head to Target. Make 2 returns while the kids are angels. Even have time for Eva to sit on the "big red ball" outside the store. I'm on top of the world. Drive home. Forgot I needed to mail a birthday package at the postoffice. Turn around. Ten people in front of me at the post office. Patience Sam, patience. Kids did great. Thank you Jesus!

Home. Feed. Barney is on repeat these past 2 weeks. Eva plays outside in the pool and sand box while I get lunch ready. Eat. Aslan is still awake and loving to be held. Why didn't I buy the Ergo again??? Counting down the minutes until nap time. 1:45pm. 2:00pm. 2:15pm. Milk. Prayers. Nighty-night. Feed Aslan. Nighty-night.

Both kids asleep. I pretty much rock. I did it. Now, what can I do? Nap? No. Make dinner? Yes. I can make dinner. Salad. Sandwiches. Freshly brewed mint tea. Don't forget a pickle. Eva's awake. An hour earlier than usual. Oh well. She's happy and I'm not about to fight over an hour when she's already slept two. Aslan is still sleeping. Play time with Eva. I LOVE this. Counting down the minutes until Daddy is home. Eva is watching for him out the window. And...He. Is. Home.

I survived my first day at home without friends or family to keep us company. Our newly formed family of 4, minus Daddy for the day. I'd like to think the day looked like a heartbeat on one of those doctor machines. Ups and downs followed by ups and downs. But, we are all hear to tell about it. Remember it. So, I'd say my job here is done. On to tomorrow...

P.S. I LOVE having 2 kids. ;)
