Measuring spoons. Not only are they useful in the kitchen, but they are useful in the keeping-infant-occupied department too. Aslan will play with measuring spoons longer than Eva will watch Elmo's World. And we all know, that's long. Go ahead and try it. Maybe it's the jingling of the spoons together, maybe it's the concave shape on their gums, whatever it is, it's infant friendly.

Wifing (pronounced wife-ing). It's the routine you embrace when your husband is out of town, the kids are sick, or the sun has disappeared for days. My dear friend (who will remain anonymous) told me about this genius idea of setting up luxuries for yourself, the night before, so when you wake up, you have little amenities waiting for you. For example, set your tea or coffee out on the counter the night before so when you wake up in a foggy daze, the caffeine is smiling at you. Purchase bright colored flowers at the grocery story. Every time you pass your dining room table, the colors will brighten your day. One of my favs, buy the junkie cereal or the ice cream that you like and your spouse doesn't. After the kids are in bed, press play On Demand and relax with your sweet treat.
