If David said it, I can do it

The long road ahead of us, we set out for our destination with kids in tow. I have a different perspective than most when it comes to car rides. This cheesy phrase, "joy in the journey" helps me to remember that 8 hours in a car with my husband or whomever, is actually a gift that is placed right in my lap. When do I get 8 hours to discover and dig through another person's perspective and laugh along the way too. Waiting in long lines is similar, if you look at the line as moments to S T O P and just be...then you won't have to worry about "a waste of time".

Anyway, this is actually a funny post. I have a few serious sentiments floating around in my head, but they will have to wait until tomorrow or another day. This post is about me sitting in the back seat, wedged between 2 car seats. This is about my wee 8 month old babe who wakes up from a nap and needs to eat. Milk. No solids, he thinks he's too good for that. As usual, I'm all about trying to beat the time it took us the first time we drove this distance, so making another stop for a feeding is pretty much out of the question.

Knees on the seat, bootie up in the air, I'm pressed against Aslan's car seat, feeding him as Brandon drives. This gives a whole new meaning to "fast food" or "eating in the car". My arms are starting to quiver as they hold my stance and all I can hear in my head is a favorite worship song...

I'll become even more undignified than this. Some may say it's foolishness, but I'll become even more undignified than this.

You don't get much more indignified than this!
