"Sam, what really is Thanksgiving?" she asked without lifting her head from the burbur carpeting. "Well," I replied, "Do you remember the stories you've been reading about the Pilgrims and Indians?"
"Oh, you mean Squanto?" she chirped, excited that she was right on track with our conversation. "Yea, Squanto was an Indian. Well, when those 2 groups of people came together, at one point, they realized that they had a lot to be thankful for. They were thankful for their food and they were thankful for each other. So, they had a meal together and remembered all the things that they had. We can be really thankful for Jesus too and all that He has done for us. More than any other person, or group of people could ever do."
She nodded. Agreeing with my explanation and processing what it meant to her.
You don't realize how much you don't know until you question what you DO know. Food for thought.
Thanksgiving, Wikipedia style.
How are you going to spend your Thanksgiving? With friends? Family? Do you have traditions? I'd love to hear about them. We are going to have family over to our house this year. The pictures are a preview of the table arrangements and place cards. Only a couple days now and SO much to be thankful for. Can I get an A-Men?!

We're all heading to Micah's parents house and then having a second Thanksgiving with the Mushies on Friday. Maybe we can FaceTime again? Missing you guys as always and especially at Thanksgiving. Lots of love and blessings to you!
