O.F. (Organizational Friday)

Yesterday, my friend, T, suggests I start an "Organization Blog", where people can browse ideas of how to live organized. I say, "It's more like writing about my OCD", but she says it doesn't really matter.

Regardless, I don't think I have enough tidbits for an entire blog, but I do have a tip... or two. Did you read yesterday's post about the napkins? Not organization, but it will save you time in the moment.

Tip #1: Dishwasher Everything. Nothing ever goes in the sink. (Almost) Nothing. As soon as you or someone living in your house finishes a bowl or plate, they rinse and dishwasher. Done. No one wants to see an ominous pile of dirty dishes erupting from the sink. No one. Plus, it takes the same amount of time to put a dish in the sink as the dishwasher. Start the habit.

Tip #2: Dispose of ALL Trash (in your vehicle) Every Time You Get Gas. They put trash cans by the pumps. Use them. The result? A clean car all the time that never smells like old wrappers or forgotten fast food.

Tip #3: Come Home to Clean. And this is where my OCD steps in. Before you leave the house, have the kids put away their toys and wipe off the kitchen counter. You may think this a bit overdone, like, "Every time I leave the house?", but SERIOUSLY, this is where you get your sanity back. You will step into your home after insanity at Costco or germ-city at Giant, and you will see HGTV all over your house. Toys away. Clutter less kitchen floors. Deep breath. It feels good just thinking about it, huh?!

And that's a wrap for Organizational Friday. Stay tuned, because I may or may not, ever post about this again!

Cheers! You're awesome.
