Making use of the gift (OCD) I have for keeping things organized.
Tip #1: Clean Day(s). Contrary to what you may think, an organized person does not make a clean person. I DO NOT like cleaning my house. I really don't like cleaning my house while taking care of 2 toddlers. I tried something this week that I will forever do, because it worked. Instead of taking 3-4 hours on ONE day and cleaning all bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, and kitchen, I saved the kitchen for day TWO. Let me tell you, it was simple, took way less time, and I actually enjoyed cleaning the kitchen rather than rushing through (and not actually getting it super clean). Eva was watching morning cartoons and Aslan helped me spray the counters and then watched in awe as I cleaned the floor on my hands and knees. Done. TWO days is the way to go.
Tip #2: Coupon Organizer in the Car. I've watched the shows on TLC. I'm not THAT into couponing, but saving a few dollars on my grocery is a couple extra lattes in my belly. Last year Brandon bought me a super cute, tiny, alphabetical organizer that I keep in the car-door-holder-thing. I cut coupons once a week or maybe see a flyer in the store, but all I do is stuff it into my purse and then when I hop in the car (kids are buckled and listening to ridiculous kiddo music at this point), I just throw those savings into my coupon organizer. It's fast. It's organized. It's money in my pocket.
Tip #3: Write it Down. Have you ever had a genius idea pop in your head in the middle of the day? You carry on with whatever you're in the middle of and then 3 days later you remember that you had a genius idea, but you have no idea what it was. Organize your thoughts people. Write it down! I keep a notepad next to my computer, a space I walk by all day long, and when ideas or thoughts or to-dos pop in my head, I write them down. How simple. My brain is thanking me that it no longer has to do all the remembering. Also, if Brandon were writing this tip, he would say something like, "iPhones have recording devices that can be used to help remember daily tasks and also the notepad app is a great way to write down ideas". He is my Mac genius. ;)
Happy Friday!
Cheers! You're awesome.
