Gems in Friends

What a week!

I dare even type this, but the kids and I are in a groove right now. It happens until you write it down. (Eek!) The almost 4-year-old says things like, "That kitkat (a BobCat mini-bulldozer) has been a big helper to us.", and "She is from Bethel? That's where Jesus was born!". Oh, and of course, you can check my Insta feed to see numerous pics of her in her helmet. The new bike helmet. The one that hasn't left her head except maybe a nap in 3 days. It's awesome. And Aslan, almost 2, he has left his whines behind and is intrigued by the buckles on these bike helmets. And playdough. The boy loves playdough.

A reoccurring theme these days is finding gems in my friends. Get-togethers full of communion and vulnerable hearts, willing to share so that He can mold and mend. A day filled with drop-ins and planned play-dates make this girl a happy wife and mom. And what about that girl, Natalia. Sheesh! She can speak into your soul just by telling you HER story. It's that powerful. Revelation 19:10. Check it. (And if you're looking for more, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-6DPHmzzkc)

As the wind sails through my open windows today, I'm thankful for the spring miracles and all that this new year has to offer. Aren't you so glad that 2013 is a year of good gifts and blessings. I hope you believe that. I've been weeding my little flower gardens and spreading mulch with gloved hands. I know it's only ours until the end of June, but I can't help myself.

Faithful with little, faithful with much. And it helps that I love mulch. I think it takes me back to my childhood.

Shovel that dyed bark, it makes all things new.

Next week I will try to be less scattered. I'll try. No promises.

I'll leave you with these wise words, taken from one of my favorite speakers.

"Our identity is not in what we've done, but in who we belong to." -Eric Smith
