Gut This

It's a new week. I bet you have a full calendar. Playdates. Feeding new babies. Groceries and Costco trips. Visiting grandparents. Date nights. Finishing a book. Maybe?

We, too, have a full calendar. Every little detail points toward July 31st. Eviction. Moving day. Whatever you want to call it, we have to be out of the townhouse. For good.

I caught myself saying, "If we aren't able to live at the new house, at least we can put all our stuff in the garage."

What?!

No, no! That is completely unacceptable talk. This renovation business will certainly be finished by July 31st so that we can move in. Right?

Onward and upward, here are a few before/after pictures from the ONLY room in the entire house that we did not completely gut (the only one). It's the master bathroom, inside our bedroom. The previous owner "renovated" this bathroom within the last 15 years maybe. Basically that means it doesn't have a green or brown sink and shower like the rest of the house.

With a little paint, 10 hours, and QT from an awesome friend (insert Grace Fisher), voila! One bathroom that is clean, in working order, and doesn't make me cringe when I walk in the door.

Friday and Saturday I prepped the garage for possibly storing our entire house, IF, the renovations are not done on time. Spiders, earwigs, nails, dirt, gone. I painted the pegboard that lines all of the walls white. It feels much fresher, just because of the white. Shout out to Mike and Claire, selfless and inspirational friends, for helping with the painting and bringing us lunch!!! Their oldest daughter taught us a new trick off the diving board too, "the flying squirrel", complete with sound effects!

This last picture, I may have posted a few weeks back, but it's so dramatic, I love it! Did I ever tell you that I didn't even know we had a brick archway in the front of the house? There were so many bushes (arborvitae shrubs) I couldn't even see the front of the house! This is the before/after taken during demo weekend. Unfortunately, tomorrow the beautiful grassy front lawn is going to be ripped up in order to regrade the land away from the house. Apparently, if the ground slopes toward your house you will get water in the basement? Who knew?!

Cheers to you this week! You're awesome!
