Demo the Doors

Early in the morning, driving to a fiery furnace, a space where many sacrifice time and things to talk with God and abandon in worship...he talks to me.

"But, God, does it really make a difference, the declaring and the praying. The things we call out on the macro level, the things we may never see result or resolve. Should our prayers take shape on the small things, the families we know or specific ones in mind, the micro? Is that better? Is that more impactful? What pleases you the most?"

And in an instant, he reminded me of a locked door in the natural. A door at my very own house, that stood between me and the other side. It wouldn't open with keys. It wouldn't open with force. But when my son stood and prayed and when I DECLARED the truth about the situation, that door became unlocked. That door fell open and we walked through to embrace everything that was sitting, waiting for us on the other side.

So I say this for me and I say this for you, the declaring and the praying are not in vain. The macro and the micro are not in competition. Listen for the Holy Spirit and align your prayers with his. Just as the door to my house was opened, God is waiting to unlock the doors you've been praying be moved.

Your words have the power of life and death.

Power.
