Writing a Birth Plan

Imagine that you are about to go into labor. What does the day look like to you? A nice jog at home with the dogs? A swim to get things moving? When do you decide to go to the birthing center? Are your bags packed? What's inside? What will your conversation be on the way? Will there be any conversation?

Brandon and I are supposed to be writing a birth plan to prepare ourselves and the midwife for our thoughts on the birth. Even though we've had 7 weeks of Bradley Classes and a boatload of wisdom from friends, I think it's hard to decide what we are going to want until it's actually happening.

Maybe the jacuzzi will feel too hot. Maybe we'll stay home until the last possible moment. Maybe the birthing ball will be comfortable or maybe it will pop right before I lean on it!

What I do know, is that we are both looking forward to meeting this little girl. 40 weeks is really the perfect amount of time to prepare your body and your mind for a little one. We are just 5 weeks away (give or take) from this miracle. However the birth plan is played out...we will have a healthy mom and a new healthy baby!

oh Sam, you're making me cry.
I am SO thrilled for you two. Time is quickly ticking down to the end of this 40 week journey, and it will be just the beginning of another.

wow. yippee!
