Due Dates are Overrated

Yes. My official 40 week marker was yesterday. I've already discussed with Brandon that for the next baby I don't even want to know a "due date" because it's really just rubbish. The baby doesn't know his or her "due date", they simply know when they have been cooked long enough and are ready to be born. So, for next time, I'm gonna do a couple calculations myself and just know a general time frame.

As for this little girl, she is doing wonderful and so am I. Brandon and I have had a really fun weekend, hanging out with friends, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the new lower level (watched Casino Royal while laying on the floor due to our lack of furniture). I'm trying to busy my schedule so I don't analyze every movement my body makes and wonder, "Is this a contraction?" It's funny when people ask if I'm having contractions yet, because I've never had contractions before so my only response is "no". I suppose when I start having them I will really know what one is.

Brandon has started to ask the cutest questions, "Where is she going to sleep the first night? What exactly do you want me to pack for you to eat at the Birth Center? Will we leave before the labor gets intense or stay home for the first stage?" I can tell that he's really getting excited and is ready to meet his daughter. Man, a father has such an awesome responsibility. Tricia was telling me that when Bella was born, she reminded Ben how every single word he said was going to make an impact on his little girl. No pressure men, but you've got a lot of representing to do. Wow, it's pretty awesome.

Hopefully the next time I'm writing is to share gorgeous pictures of our new baby and share our incredible birth story. Until then, we are taking every moment captive. Life is about to change and we are going to be dumped on with a lot more joy...
