Eva coughed her way to her first "real" doctor visit today. It's so sad. She has this tiny little cough and a stuffy nose (however, we suck out all the goo with an electronic aspirator by Graco). No worries though, the doctor confirmed that she was perfectly fine and would toughen up in a few days. Phew! There is nothing that pulls on a mama's heart more than to see her little one with an "owie". By the way, while I was at the doctor appointment, I had them take Eva's measurements. She is in the 50th percentile in all categories! She weighs 12 lbs 2 oz. She stands 23 in tall and her head is 15 1/2 in around. Good girl!
Over the weekend, we drove 12 hours to Charleston, South Carolina for Veronica's wedding (see pics). The weather was incredible and the waves crashed down as gloriously as ever. Oh, how we love the beach! This was Eva's second time to the beach since she was born (by the way she is 11 weeks old already). I know that most will think I'm biased, but we truly do have the best baby! She is a great sleeper, hardly ever complains, and gives the most beautiful smiles. They will melt your heart. She has really turned up the volume on her vocals lately too. She held a couple conversations with different women in the doctor's waiting room (hopefully they weren't breathing sick-germs on her). I laughed to myself this morning when we walked in, and the waiting area was soooo quiet. I mean, you could hear a pin drop. Everyone stares at you when you walk in the door. And then there was Eva. Just chirping away in her loudest, prettiest voice. So inside my head, I whispered a little prayer to God, "May she be one that breaks down barriers and inspires joy to the broken." And as I watched her, I realized that she is already fulfilling that word. Thanks Lord :)
