Words with Friends. Shots. Splash.

I'd like to take this moment and thank Steve Jobs for all his hard work and creativity at Apple. Without him, my 1AM feeds would be dark and drowsy. Thanks to the app, "Words with Friends", I can play Scrabble with Brandon or Kelly (or strangers) during the wee hours of the morning to keep myself awake. There I sit, Eva eating like a champ, and the iPhone out and glowing. I must admit, this game is addicting (thank you Kelly). I roll over when Brandon and I lie down to go to sleep, and what do you know... he's playing "Words with Friends" (secretly I'm hoping he's making a move on our Scrabble board so I can make my next move to win).

Eva is upstairs napping at the moment. She had her first shot today. That's right. Six months old and received her first prick. It's funny how God talks to me, because it's never in the conventional ways you might think of. It's not usually at church. It's not during a conference. It's usually in the bathroom and sometimes while I'm cooking. Yesterday I was trying to prepare myself for Eva's shot, when God reminded me that Brandon and I have prayed this over and over, "That our ceiling would be Eva's floor." I was so worked up about this stupid shot and how she was going to react, when God revealed to me that it was MY issue and that Eva was going to be fine. And, guess what? She didn't even cry. She didn't even shed a tear. She is just the coolest, toughest, baby there is!

On a soggier note, Eva spilled an entire bowl of cereal on me today. I was on the phone, sitting at our bar, with Eva on my lap. The bowl of cereal sat on the bar while I was trying to finish up a conversation with AETNA, our insurance provider. All of a sudden, SPLASH! Eva grabbed my bowl, tilted, and there were Frosted Flakes everywhere! I gasped and the lady on the phone didn't miss a beat. She just kept talking as if she were a salesman who was getting paid by the minute. Ahh, such is life. What did I do for entertainment and laughs before Little E came around?!

Lastly, I'll add this to my mish-mash of blogging. Cabbage Patch kids. I had one when I was little. In fact, I think I still have mine in a bag somewhere, maybe on top of the garage. Kelly seems to think that Eva and the 80's dolls have a similar face. Chuckle. I tend to agree. It's those cheeks!
