A Flashback

I do so much journaling online that I have neglected to write in my paper journal lately. I think my last entry was mid-January, unusual for me. I flipped back a couple pages and was greeted by an entry the day Eva was born! I had completely forgotten that I wrote this, but after reading, it all came back to me. Enjoy this little peak into my heart the day Eva was born...

I'm officially 1 week past my due date. Yesterday brandon and I went for an NST (non-stress test) and realized that I was having contractions, but had just thought it was Eva moving. They were painless (yay God!). After being told I was 3cm dilated, I drove Brandon to work and busied myself with errands (potted lavender, baked raspberry bars). Around 4 pm there was an incredible thunderstorm. I sat in the living room and just took in the sounds and blowing rain. Contractions still regular, but not intense, we went to dinner with Cyle and then came home to get rest. Eva, I thought about you yesterday when I took the dogs on a walk and was overcome by your purity and beauty already. I haven't even seen you yet! God's goodness over you is just that, oh so so good. I felt contractions all night, sometimes enough to wake me. I got up an hour ago and I'm thinking today might be the day we meet your beautiful face.
Lord, Brandon and I are totally dependent upon you. This is your life. We surrender her and the process of labor and birth to you. Thank you for a better way! Thank you for supernatural strength and peace. Phil. 4:13 I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

what a beautiful journal entry, I remember praying some of the same things before Hannah was born. Looking back you really realize how amazing the process of labor and birth really is.
