Baby Steps (or crawl)

Without further ado, I will jot down a new season of life, involving life with a CRAWLING babe! Yes, that's right. Eva is crawling. Actually right now, it looks like she uses her left leg to crawl and she pulls her right leg along, but still...she's on her way. Let's reminisce, shall we, to the day when the new independence began.

Wednesday. April 7th. Grandma and Grandpa Key stopped by for a visit. They also stopped by to deliver an Easter basket for Eva, clothes and a new toy! Well, within seconds, Eva was overcome by their generosity and found it hard to be away from the new clothes that were across the room from her "spot" on the floor. So, with complete ease, she starts crawling toward the clothes! Grandma and Grandpa didn't know anything different until I exclaimed, "DID YOU SEE THAT?! SHE JUST CRAWLED!" After realizing that this was a new milestone in Eva's life, they joined in with excitement and we all watched for another "move" to take place.

At this moment, I ran into the kitchen to grab the MacBook. Brandon would not want to miss out on a moment like this, so I quickly tried to video-chat with him. He was available and Eva's face lit up when she saw Daddy! However, like most babies, she clammed up when we tried to get her to crawl again. She wasn't doing any tricks for anyone! Oh well. She did it once and I had witnesses!

Since Wednesday, she's been strutting her stuff all over the rooms and perfecting her swagger. I haven't really moved too many things out of her reach, but I've been burning extra calories with all the checking in on her that I do. Seeing her cute little face and tiny fingers is completely worth it. Ahh. This. is the life.

So we can stalk each others blogs haha. It is always fun to read moms blogs with babies close in age to your own:)
