40

After deciding to read the Bible from front to back (yeah, I know I've probably done it a couple times, but this time I'm not even skipping over the geneologies), I've gotten a few revelations. One thing is this number 40. I just chowed down on Noah's ark story and how he and the fam bonded together over board games and animal poo for a looooong time. I mean, let's be honest, if you've ever been in someone's house who has (stinky) pets and doesn't clean up with clorox or at least some soapy water, it reeks. The stench is unbearable and the feeling is worse than that after leaving Walmart. So Noah and his family are bearing with the smell in turn for not being washed up with the rest of the people that were on earth. I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

40 days and nights it rained. I always thought that meant Noah was on the ark for 40 days, but it doesn't. It simply means, it RAINED for 40 days. The most consistent number I came up with was approximately 370 days on the ark!!! Are you kidding me?! That's a lot of Yahtzee and Words with Friends. This is all beside the point that I wanted to make, but I thought it was interesting, nonetheless. 40 days and nights. The number 40 is so significant throughout the Bible. It shows up and generally represented "testing". With that said, I thought to myself "how interesting" that a fetus is carried approximately 40 weeks (yes, I know that number can vary).

Take from that what you will. Whatever it speaks to you or means to you. At the end of 40, significant change takes place and usually a sort of breakthrough. Amen and amen. It may be a lot of work or "testing", but thank God for the breakthrough!

I love the thought of Azlan breaking through, quickly and easily. There will be many times in his life as he grows into a young man when you will both need a breakthrough for him....but this will definitely be the most significant of them all.

Can't wait to hear about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
