Cookie Monster

The kids have had the sniffles for about 2 weeks now. I have pumped them full of vitamins, echinachea, chicken stock, sleep, fresh air, and everything else that I know to do. We've tried vicks, elevating their beds, and bringing then into the bathroom to breath in the warm, moist air. Slowly, and I do mean ssslllooowwwlllyyy, I am going through less tissues and the coughs are subsiding.

All of this to say, a funny thing happened on Sunday at church. I wanted to go, despite the colds because a good friend was in town from NC. Even if I could give her a hug, I wanted to say, "hi" and "happy birthday". I kept Eva out of the nursery since she still had a cold, which meant she would be hanging out with us during worship. Brandon had Aslan in the sling so I took, "Eva duty". Eva usually does stay with us for worship, I figure since we sing and dance and love on Jesus at home together, why not do the same at church together.

A couple songs into the service, Eva was getting antsy. Her usual love for dancing and people-watching must have temporarily left with the warm weather. No prob, moms always have a Plan B in their bag. I pulled out her "cat bag" as she calls it and she sat happily on the FRONT ROW and played with her bag.

Apparently, she was very excited for this new entertainment and her newly found stand-up act. Yes, stand up. Brandon taught her a little charade where she acts like cookie monster and spews things across the living room. LIVING ROOM. NOT the FRONT ROW of church. Well, eyes closed, I'm singing my heart out, until I look down and see the contents of the "cat bag" all over the front of the church!

"Eva, what are you doing?!" I shush in her ear.
"Mama, I'm cookie monster!" she says innocently.

I pick up the contents and she proceeds to show me that the things in the "cat bag" are cookies and she needs to eat them like cookie monster. After all, this is what Daddy taught her!

Now that we are home. I'm laughing out loud.

What have your kids or friends done recently to make you laugh? I wanna laugh too!

When we got home I was unpacking... and mer comes in and tells me her rooms smells so good.
I sarcasticly mention it's probably because it's clean from when we left...
"yeah.." she sighs happily.
curious I go in to see what she is talking about.
Nope..it smells just like her girl room always has.
"mer it smells like normal..."
"Yep...I just sniff and sniff and sniff" she says in that high pitched blissed out cartoon voice of hers.
just happy to be home I guess.
