Brandon walks in the door after helping a friend paint for a few hours. It's Saturday morning and I've been home with the kiddos.
THIS is what the house looks like (except you can only see half the picture).
Eva and I were in the kitchen whisking ingredients for banana bread, ignoring the atrocious mess that was built in the living room. Anyway, Brandon walks into the kitchen after passing the mountain and says, "It looks like someone had a lot of fun today!"
That was it. That simple statement sent me into a tailspin. If I would have walked into the house, after being gone for the morning, and seen that mess, I probably would have reacted a little differently. Ok, let's be honest. I would have thought a lot of things and, "It looks like someone had a lot of fun today!" would not have been one of them.
It's so good to have perspective. What I've been asking myself daily (hourly, by the minute) is, where is my perspective? Is it peace-like-a-river from a mountain top perspective or is it anxiety stricken from an in-the-trenches perspective?
Have a Lovely Weekend.

so neat how you teach your kids so much and they teach you just as much in return...
