I know it's not unusual for mothers to have double-takes in their days.
The "lost" toothbrush that turns up in the dryer.
The burnt quesadillas that sizzled while you wiped poop (yup, I said it).
How about the brother in his highchair who gets spun in HersheyPark-like circles while sister laughs with uncontrollable giggles?
But honestly at ages 3 and 1, I'm making myself S T O P and take in the minutes. The seconds. These days go by (usually) way too fast. My bff joked the other day about the kids turning 12 and 10. My heart skipped a beat. Choke. I can't believe that some day they will be 12 and 10?! I do not give them permission for that!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that in all the stressful moments, the voice that has laughed along with these 2 kiddos, has become so much louder. So many fun memories we've created this summer. I can't even imagine all the fun the fall will bring. We are closing out the summer with a trip to the beach and then onward falling leaves and pumpkin carving.
Cheers to the last 23 days of summer!
