Sickness, I'm Over You

It may sound dramatic to say that Christmas was terrible last year. Ok, that definitely sounds dramatic. I mean, offf courrrrrse, celebrating the birth of Jesus was incredibleamazinglifechanging and so on, but in our house last year, it was all about S I C K.

I mean, seriously, it was terrible. Both kids.

6 months.

2.6 years.

Snotty, coughing, unabletosleep, glassy eyes, and did I mention sleepless?!

That's how I remember it. Brandon and I turned to each other after the kids were in bed on Christmas and agreed, "Well, at least we never have to have a Christmas like that again!".

So, hear me LOUD AND CLEAR germs and viruses alike.

YOU

ARE

NOT

WELCOME

HERE!!!

Shoo. Shoo.

My mom calls today with the "flu" (no seriously, again) and my motherinlaw (MIL) has been under the weather for the past couple days. Eva and Aslan, runny noses and coughs.

THIS...is where I want to throw an adult sized temper tantrum and plead for a timeout, but then I have to laugh at God's humor.

I did pray, "Lord, please keep sickness from my family on Christmas. Protect their health so we can all focus on you".

And then the humor steps in...Well, technically it's not Christmas yet and I guess I should have prayed more specifically. (Insert eye roll. Come on God, work with me ok?!)

Like on our wedding day, when we prayed for months that it wouldn't rain during our (outside) wedding, which it didn't, but it did rain up until 5 minutes before go-time. Sheesh. You'd think I would learn.

But in all seriousness, SICKNESS, I am talking to you, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE (now and forever).

AMEN.

The End.

Packing for our NOTGOINGTOBESICK trip.
