If I would have known this growing up, life would have been a whole lot easier.
Free will.
Oohhhh...it's gettin' deep.
You pray for them and pray for them and...wait a minute...pray for them...and "nothing happens".
You expect the healing, expect the healing, expect the healing and...wait a minute..."nothing".
You petition for the breakthrough, petition for the breakthrough and..."nothing".
S T O P
Your prayers were not in vain. You DO speak to a god who exists. You do speak to a god who
does
MORE
than
exist!
Adam was created in the image of Him. Just like Him, Adam had free will. And so do you. And so do I.
Since the very beginning we have been partnering with God, learning to walk in sync with his steps, and then they took a bite out of free will. They took their eyes off Him and thought they had a better way. Self.
Yes, yes, yes, we are NOT left there. The baby in a barn came to make a much better way. He grew on earth to show them, us, there is hope and it's new every morning.
Getting back to free will. I don't know all the answers. I'm not claiming to be a scholar on the topic. At all. But let me encourage you by saying, it's more about what He Does see you do, rather than what you don't do. Does that make sense? In other words, His grace is more than enough to fill in all the gaps where you fell short.
So when you prayed for them, something DID happen and your prayers are still reverberating through heaven. It's not over yet.
When you expected healing and it didn't turn out that way, His grace is still enough to turn all things together for the good.
And when you petitioned for the breakthrough, He was and is faithful, so ask Him for eyes to see what really happened.
I'm gonna wait in expectation because I know now, even though man has free will, my God of the Bible is the same today, yesterday, and forever. He's in the business of saving people.
And He will do just that.
Happy Thanksgiving!
