Spring, Summer Ready

Prison Break. Not only have I unashamedly watched 21 episodes in the last 6 days, my son, Aslan, had that terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, stomach bug. Oh, wait. Then Eva got it too. Have mercy. For the sake of our water bill! I've done more wash in the past week than I do in an entire month. Truth.

We have come out on the other side, we are out of confinement and into freedom. Can I get an amen?!

Amen.

Did you know that the Hebrew for Amen is "Aman" and it means to be faithful, support, or confirm. Just thought that was a good reminder. Every time that you, "Amen" someone, you are joining forces with them and confirming what they are believing for.

In other news, I can't blog without mentioning the sunny skies and 70 degree temps.

The warm temps have me drooling for sunglasses and tan lines. I started a new way to MEAL PLAN this week and it has rocked my world. A friend stopped over with her kids and I didn't have any fresh brewed iced tea to offer or extra lunch for her kiddos. Not cool guys. Not, cool.

That's it! I've gotta get into my summer routine. This MEAL PLAN. It has brushed my shoulders off. No stress. More time for pool and friends and sun and kids and all things spring and summer.

Ok. Here it is. I sat down Monday night and spent 15 minutes (not even exaggerating) writing lunch and dinner meals for the MONTH of April. Don't widen your eyes and think this is crazy. It was so fast and easy. I rotate the same lunches and find new (Pinterest) and old recipes for dinners. Done. I used the iCal App that comes with your computer/phone and now my husband has a heads up too.

For example, I grocery shop once a week. Costco and Giant. I look at my iCal. I make a list of what ingredients I need for the week and what we are missing from the cabinets. Done.

Let's say Brandon is on his way home from work and I want him to stop and get a few things. Done. He looks at his iCal since our calendars are synched and he knows exactly what to get.

No more, "I don't know what to make for lunch today."
No more, "I don't have this or that or this or that."
No more, "I have to sit down and think about what to make...again!"

MONTHLY MEAL PLAN.

It's not because I'm organized. I'm truly not the "plan ahead" type. It's because it works for me (hopefully).

Maybe you?

Cheers to warmer days, fab food, and less time in the kitchen!

Oh, and puke-free days. I can't handle any more vomit.

A-men!
