Reaping and Sowing. It's against the law.

First things first.

15 weeks ago, so says my Instagram app, I posted a few words.

"God does not have to bless anyone at your expense. Nor does He have to bless you at anyone's expense. He has more than enough."

I had to read it a couple times and then the Ah-Ha! moment set in. Whoa, that is so so good!

"God does not have to bless anyone at your expense. Nor does He have to bless you at anyone's expense. He has more than enough."

He was reminding me that I CAN be happy for other people, no matter what my circumstances look like, because it is not my circumstances that God relies on to bless other people. Get real. He has more than enough to go around.

Blessing people starts to become easy after you grit your teeth and practice a time or two. An encouraging word to the person who seems like they need it the least, a prayer for the one who looks like they always have it together, a blessing over someone you would rather curse. And slowly, maybe quickly, blessing will start to knock on your door, again and again.

We sold our house yesterday. Saturday, our house wasn't even up on the market yet, and our realtor called, asking if he could show our house that evening. The report was so-so. We were happy to get our feet wet. Two days later, the first day our house was on the market, this buyer asked to see our house again. And the next, day she bought it. Our realtor said he has barely ever seen a sale go so smooth and a contract seem so clean. No strings attached. All that we asked for, even letting us stay until the new house is renovated.

Come on, this is the God we serve! I mean, sorry to get churchy and wordy, but seriously! He's SO worthy!

Brandon and I went to Devon in Hershey last night, to celebrate after the kids were in bed. We toasted to His goodness and then Brandon reminded me of something that I had forgotten.

"You always said it would sell fast. You knew it. All the times you prayed for the neighbors' homes to sell, it worked."

Oh. My. Gosh! My eyes widened and a joy that hadn't been evident all day, crept into my belly.

That's right!

That's right!

For the past 3 years (since we started even thinking about moving), I would shout out a prayer in the car whenever a house in our neighborhood went up for sale.

"Bless them Lord! Give them the desires of their hearts. Sell their house quickly. Give them exactly what they need and more."

I would declare it over these strangers because I read a promise, a LAW (just like gravity), that I knew would have to be upheld.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man SOWS, this he will also REAP. For the one who SOWS to his own flesh will from the flesh REAP corruption, but the one who SOWS to the Spirit will from the Spirit REAP eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in DUE TIME we will REAP if we do not grow weary” (Galatians 6:7-9)

When Brandon reminded me of those prayers I had prayed, it really sunk in. God did this for us. God sold this house for us in a split second because He is faithful. He doesn't make promises and break them. He doesn't write laws and then not uphold them. He has to keep to His word, it's against the law not to.

So, you better believe that I am gonna keep blessing people and sowing goodness over people's lives, because that's what love does. Love doesn't respond out of its own lack, love responds out of His enough. He has more than enough!

Wow. Just, wow.

Cheers to you, today. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing. Clink!
