He Pursued Me Like A House?

Shop-vaccing nails and sanding beams, my mind spun circles, looking back at this story. We pursued this house with all we had. Our time, our money, our prayers, our hope, and here we are, owners of a moldy, dirty, broken-down mess.

What did we see when we ran with all our heart?

It wasn't the work ahead. It wasn't the sweat and lack of sleep. It wasn't the monthly payments or the usual upkeep. It was the promise of a house and a yard. It was the beautiful kitchen where the kids sway their feet and eat cereal. It was the great room, bubbling with laughter as friends fill the atmosphere. It was the bedrooms, packed with sleepy children and toys. It was the fireplace, where we'll sit to reminisce and dream.

Isn't that what He did.

When He pursued us with all His heart, what did He see?

It wasn't the immature child in us. It wasn't the angry or hurt. It wasn't the selfish, the dishonest, the pride, or even the lack of confidence.

He saw us as His own. The heirs to all that is His. He saw us perfect, created as sons and daughters of the king. He saw us as worthy and lovely and He even thinks we're wonderful.

That's why He sent His only son for me. Not because I'm a mess. Not because I'm dirty and unfinished.

Because He saw me and He sees me for who I was created to be.

Lacking nothing.

Thanking God for perspective today. Thank God we only see in part, because if we truly knew all the story, maybe we wouldn't keep going.

Cheers! It's a new month and I'm expecting a lot for me, and for you.

This one, my first born, danced in her first ballet this weekend.  She was hysterical to say the least (those ears fell off in the middle of her performance!).
