Warm in the Middle

In the middle of croup and colds, I've hunkered down this week and planned a Harvest Party for Eva's  school. Yes, that's right, her school.
Ask me how large her school is and you won't be as impressed.

I've got to tell ya. I have to be honest. I've loved every second of it. The emails, the organizing, the agendas to write and parents to contact. The teacher in me has come alive and I remember why I got into teaching to begin with.
Their faces. The get-down-on-their-level and be a kid again moments. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

We've got fairy costume and Batman in tow. We have games like Pass the Apple and Pin the Smile on the Pumpkin. And how about my Waldorfy craft, a leaf mobile held up by a stick? Like that? And of course food, the parents have been amazing with supplying delicious food.

It's going to be a glorious event, even if it doesn't go as planned (see, I've learned that from my vast amounts of wisdom, rolling eyes).
Today was an unprecedented day. My dad stopped over for lunch and read a few books with the kids. It was magical. I'm not gonna lie, I was tearing up hearing him talk "dump trucks" with Aslan and seeing Eva run up the stairs, so proud to show PawPaw her room. They made water color prints for him and MawMaw and Eva said they should staple them to the wall at home. We shall see! ;)

Cheers to saying yes to opportunities and living in the moment and seeing angels and friends who inspire and husbands who hang doors and Genesis and...I'll post more another time. Cheers!
