Success! I cleaned the house yesterday in 4 hours!!! Danny Tanner would be proud because this is the exact amount of time it took me to clean BEFORE the bean was born! In honor of Eva's grace (allowing me to clean straight through the morning), I'd like to give a few tips on what to do with your kid while you're cleaning. These techniques have helped me master, maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself, the clean-and-mom routine.
1. Feed child as much breakfast as possible and attach a snack cup to their wrist for further distraction throughout the morning.
2. Allow jumping on beds while vacuuming to distract child and make sweeping easier.
3. Place child in dry tub and dump all bath toys on child to make bathroom cleaning more efficient.
4. Play loud, silly, cheesy, ancient songs like, "Father Abraham" or "Joshua Fought the Battle", on the iPod for comic relief in the midst of sweat and Comet.
5. Strategically finish all rooms surrounding child's sleeping quarters, so that when nap time arrives, there is exactly 2 hours to finish the other rooms AND get a shower.
Good Luck!
